Porsche 911 (2011) the leaked images of the 991

This is the new Porsche 911, and these images have been leaked ahead of the car’s official debut at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show in September. This Porsche 911 actually looks a little different to the current rear-engined icon… Codenamed 991, the new 911 is all-new, and while the silhouette is instantly recognisable (and we’d swear those doors are identical) the bow and stern are obviously altered. It’s the rear that’s changed the most, with ultra-slim LED lights and a much wider but more neatly integrated pop-up rear spoiler.

Kia has released a short film featuring Peter Schreyer that provides an insight into the world of premium car design in which he explains the importance of proportion. In the presentation, Schreyer sketches the company's new K9 sedan, describing how a rear-wheel drive platform affects the car's design, with its generous wheelbase, short front overhang and the 'prestige distance' between the center of the front wheel and the A-pillar. First Corvette Stingray Convertible sells for $1 million

The first Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to be built has been auctioned for charity by Barrett Jackson  and bought by Rick Hendrick for $1 million. The new Corvette Stingray Convertible was offered for sale this weekend at Barratt Jackson’s auction in Palm Beach, Florida, with GM donating the healthy proceeds of $1 million to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. The Stingray Convertible was bought by wealthy NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick, who can now add the Stingray Convertible to his collection of cars, which also includes the first of the new Stingrays for which he paid $1.1 million.
